Cardiac Classic

Cardiac Classic is an annual golf tournament that raises money for the Baptist Heart Institute. Funds are delivered through the Cardiac Fund administered by the Baptist Memorial Health Care Foundation. The 12th annual Cardiac Classic will take place Monday, Sept. 24, 2007.

Spaces and sponsorship opportunities are still available.

The Cardiac Fund was established in 1995 to provide financial support for initiatives that benefit cardiovascular patients and their care. During the past 10 years, Cardiac Classic has raised almost $500,000, which has been used to provide medications to needy and indigent patients, purchase cardiovascular equipment and provide education for nurses and staff.

NICU Reunion

Baptist will host its annual newborn intensive care unit reunion this fall at Baptist Memorial Hospital for Women, 6225 Humphreys Blvd.

This free reunion celebrates the lives of patients who spent time in the newborn ICU. About 10 percent of the babies born at Baptist’s Women’s Hospital spend time in the hospital’s newborn ICU. On average, these children spend six weeks in the unit. During the reunion, newborn ICU “graduates” and their families will visit with the nurses who cared for them. Also, the “graduates” can have fun playing games and making crafts. Refreshments will be provided.

For more information about Baptist Memorial Hospital for Women or the newborn ICU reunion, please call (901) 227-7129.
