2nd Annual Mississippi Physician’s Conference on Alzheimer’s Disease
August 17
(for physicians only)

The second annual Mississippi Physician's Conference on Alzheimer's Disease will be held Tuesday, August 17 at the Whispering Woods Conference Center in Olive Branch. Guest speakers include William Thies, Ph.D., Chief Scientific and Medical Officer of the Alzheimer's Association National Office; G. Stennis Watson, Ph.D., of the University of Washington; Angela Skinner, MSN, FNP, GNP of Philadelphia, MS; and an ethics panel including Sara Moses, Mdiv of the University of Mississippi; Hale Freeland, JD of Oxford and Scott Nelson, MD of Cleveland.

Conference on Alzheimer’s Disease and Psychiatric Disorders in the Elderly
August 18-20
(for the general public)

In an effort to address the needs of people suffering from or caring for someone with Alzheimer’s disease, the Mississippi Department of Mental Health’s Division of Alzheimer’s Disease and Other Dementia is sponsoring the 11th Annual Conference on Alzheimer’s Disease and Psychiatric Disorders in the Elderly. “We're All In This Together” will be held August 18-20 at the Whispering Woods Conference Center in Olive Branch.

2010 Childbirth Classes


Saturday Childbirth Education

An alternative for those who can't attend on weeknights, this all-day Saturday class covers the basics of childbirth: what to expect in labor and delivery, pain management options and breathing and relaxation techniques. A tour of labor and delivery unit is also included. The fee for this class is $75.
