Breakthrough technology for foot drop.
Baptist Rehabilitation-Germantown is the first facility in the area to offer the NESS L300 – a remarkable new treatment for patients experiencing foot drop due to stroke, brain or spinal cord injury, or multiple sclerosis.
Made by Bioness, Inc., the L300 is a neuroprosthetic and rehabilitation system that uses FES (Functional Electrical Stimulation) to help patients with life-altering neurological disorders affecting lower extremities. The low-profile device is worn on the lower leg and foot, enabling easier, more natural walking and a return to a more normal lifestyle.
The NESS L300 may also stimulate muscle re-education, prevent or retard disuse atrophy, maintain or increase joint range of motion, and increase blood flow.
How does it work?
The NESS L300 not only lets you walk smoother, but faster as well. A built-in sensor recognizes the surface you are walking on and adjusts accordingly. There are no bulky wires to deal with, and the compact design even allows patients to wear their normal footwear.
It’s also easy for patients to use. Unlike systems that can’t be easily applied or removed, the NESS L300 is surprisingly simple, making it ideal for inpatient or outpatient use.
A partner for the NESS H200
Baptist Rehab-Germantown is now the only Mid-South facility with a complete set of neuroprosthetic technology for both the upper and lower extremities. The NESS H200 uses FES (functional electrical stimulation) to help patients with neurological disorders affecting the function of the arm and hand.
The NESS H200 is worn on the forearm and hand and enables patients to perform everyday activities that were previously impossible for them. It can help the hand open and close, reduce stiffness, increase range of motion and strength, improve circulation, and assist in regaining awareness of an impaired limb.
Like the L300, the H200 is comfortable and easy to use. It incorporates a self-adjusting fit to hold the wrist and hand in a functional position. This superior fit, coupled with the H200 electrode placement, allows patients to remove and replace the device without compromising their therapy.
