Our advanced equipment includes a Siemens Primus linear accelerator, fully integrated with advanced simulations; high-dose rate brachytherapy (HDR); and 3-D treatment planning. New procedures performed at the center include intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) and stereotactic radiosurgery. Mammograms, treatment planning, a computerized tomography simulator and positron emission tomography scanning are performed in the hospital’s outpatient pavilion conveniently adjacent to the center. The medical oncology department features a large chemotherapy bay and laboratory. A medical oncologist, radiation oncologist, medical physicist, dosimetrist, radiation therapist, and a licensed social worker staff the center. Because education and early detection often can help prevent cancer, Baptist Golden Triangle offers reduced-rate mammograms and prostate cancer screenings, and hospital staff conduct educational programs throughout the Golden Triangle community.
