The emergency room at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle provides high-quality service to thousands of area residents. Renovated in 1997, Baptist Golden Triangle’s ER was one of the first in the state to be named a level II trauma facility. This allows the ER to provide initial care to severely injured patients and act as a referral facility for level III and IV trauma centers.

Baptist Golden Triangle is committed to compassionate ER care. The hospital treats more than 50,000 ER patients every year and offers them a 39-bed facility and access to more than 100 medical and surgical specialists. The hospital also operates a 24-hour ambulance service.

New volunteer corps helps make ER patients more comfortable.
ER facilities across the nation are facing a tough problem. What do you do when there are fewer ERs but a rapidly increasing number of patients?

Baptist Golden Triangle is addressing this overcrowding trend to make sure patients are treated with care in its ER. Hospital officials are implementing measures to make sure that patients experiencing a wait are seen by a physician as soon as possible.

Baptist Golden Triangle also has added a new volunteer corps — to make sure patients in the waiting room are as comfortable as possible, and family members are kept informed.
