Chronic wounds need special care to heal. For our patients experiencing these injuries, NEA Baptist offers a complete Wound Clinic with many specialized treatments to promote and speed up the healing process.
The Healing Process Our comprehensive wound care services include an aggressive approach to wound management, advanced wound care supplies, and physicians who specialize in wound care. The Wound Clinic can effectively treat diabetic ulcers, arterial ulcers, venous stasis ulcers, pressure ulcers, surgical wounds, thermal/chemical burns, crash injuries, and many other wounds the patient may be experiencing. The clinic focuses on improving patient outcomes through the use of proven therapies. Therapies are selected to meet each patient’s individual needs and may include compression, whirlpool, artificial skin grafting, application of growth factors, vacuum assisted closure, and off-loading, as well as individualized dressing changes that incorporate high-tech supplies. Advanced wound therapy offers a unique service to patients with chronic and complex healing wounds. The services NEA Baptist’s Wound Clinic provides are not typically available in traditional outpatient settings. While visiting the Wound Clinic, patients are given instruction about correct wound care and prevention of new injuries. Podiatrists and a certified wound specialist are available along with referrals to other medical care services such as orthotics, physical therapy, dietitians, orthopedic surgeons, and plastic surgeons.
