Health Tip
Trim all visible fat off meats. Remove skin from chicken. Cook meats on a rack so the fat can drip off the meat and into a pan.

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.
1 Corinthians 13:1

At Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis, we are committed to caring for the unique needs of your child. That’s why we have a separate pediatric/adolescent emergency department exclusively for pediatric medical emergency cases. With 24-hour-a-day, in-house pediatric physician coverage and a staff of skilled and experienced professionals specializing in pediatrics and emergency care, Baptist Memphis can attend to your child’s needs promptly.

The pediatric/adolescent emergency department, in a separate suite of the hospital’s emergency department, is designed in a kid-friendly jungle theme with pediatric emergency equipment and full monitoring capabilities. The pediatric/adolescent emergency department also offers a resuscitation room for the stabilization of critically ill children who may require referral to other facilities. In such referral cases, Baptist Memphis works closely with physicians at other facilities to make decisions regarding the care and treatment of your child.

Besides providing expert care and advanced technology, Baptist Memphis’ pediatric/adolescent emergency department also offers extras to make your children’s hospital experiences comfortable and positive. Popsicles, toys and other items are available to comfort your children during their hospital visit.

Our emergency services are offered 24 hours a day, every day to help care for your child’s urgent health care needs. We provide expert care and management of a long list of childhood conditions, including:

  • Acute asthma
  • Vomiting and diarrhea
  • Dehydration
  • Ear infections
  • Upper respiratory infections
  • Rashes
  • Fever
  • Pneumonia
  • Abdominal pain
  • New-onset diabetes
  • Orthopedic and sports injuries
