Baptist Behavioral Health Care-Union City offers both inpatient and outpatient care for patients facing behavioral and mental health, substance abuse, and chemical dependency issues. Our goal is to help people who can benefit from short-term care.
As part of Baptist Memorial Hospital, we can assess and admit patients 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Services are covered in part or whole by most private insurance policies, as well as by Medicare and TennCare.


Inpatient Chemical Dependency/Detox Services
Baptist Behavioral Health Care-Union City is a 16-bed inpatient substance abuse and dependency facility that provides a safe and comfortable environment for medical detoxification, addiction/recovery education, and relapse prevention. Anyone at least 18 years of age with drug or alcohol issues is eligible for treatment.

Our multidisciplinary treatment team is led by a board-certified psychiatrist along with a qualified staff that includes:

Inpatient Psychiatric Services
Baptist Behavioral Health-Union City offers a safe, caring environment for those suffering mental health issues that require an inpatient level of care. The inpatient psychiatric unit is equipped to treat people 18 years of age and older who have any emotional or mental disorder that requires hospitalization.

Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Program
A solution for those 18 years of age and older who do not require an inpatient level of care, but need more than one hour, one day a week.
Partial hospitalization requires at least four hours a day of therapy, whereas intensive outpatient therapy requires at least three hours a day. Both counseling programs meet daily, Monday – Friday, for group therapy sessions, with each patient assigned his or her own primary clinician. All initial assessments are free of charge.

Outpatient Therapy/Counseling
This level of care is what some consider traditional mental health therapy. Each client meets individually with a primary therapist, typically one hour a week or as needed. Children five years of age and older are eligible for this treatment, as well as adolescents and adults.
