Baptist Memorial Hospital for Women has a 24-hour maternity ambulance entrance, 23 labor and delivery suites, 48 mother/baby rooms with a well baby nursery, and it has been noted that one in 10 of all babies born in Tennessee are delivered at a Baptist hospital. We designed the Labor and Delivery unit to be both high-tech and high-touch. These beautiful rooms are designed for comfort and convenience, offering TV/VCRs, CD players and showers. Each room has oversized couches so family members can stay with their loved ones in comfort. Assessment The Obstetrical Assessment area is where we evaluate women who are brought in by ambulance or walk in because they’re in labor or are having some other kind of complication and need to be observed temporarily. We have nine semiprivate beds in this area to allow patients privacy and comfort while physicians and nurses are caring for them.  Top of Page |
