Where women with an increased risk of developing breast cancer can
receive the attentive diagnostic care and treatment they require
At the Breast Risk Management Center, our goal is to provide a full continuum of care to those patients deemed high risk for developing breast cancer. We offer individualized and compassionate care during a critical time in a women’s life.
- Evaluations and calculation tools to help identify and treat the high-risk patient
- Proactive surveillance, breast MRIs, and mammography services
- Genetic counselors available if family history
contains breast or ovarian cancers
- Multiple treatment options for patients and their physicians
- Compliance with the American Cancer Society’s national screening guidelines (April, 2007: Recommends annual MRI along with annual mammography for those patients
at a 20-25% lifetime risk of developing breast cancer)
One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. Early detection and early treatment are the best hope for survival. Patients can be referred to the Breast Risk Management Center through their primary care physicians and radiologists, or they can request a visit themselves.
