Eat right - eat light
Here are a few quick reminders to help you stay on track
when eating healthfully!
- Choose leaner meats/smaller portions.
- Choose low-fat dairy products.
- Eat more fruits, vegetables and grains. Eight servings a day is
ideal, but five is great for a start.
- Reduce total fat in diet to no more than 30 percent of calories per day.
- Choose healthier cooking methods.
- Carefully read food labels to assess sugar content AND fat content
AND calorie count.
- Maintain a desirable weight.
- Exercise at least thirty minutes three times a week to start and
slowly build up to 30 minutes five times a week.
- Make gradual changes in your diet and you will be more likely to
stick with healthful eating habits.
