Memphis, Tenn., May 1, 2000 - The Baptist Memorial Health Care Foundation dedicated the Beautiful Beginnings Baby Steps Honor Wall at an April 30 ceremony at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Collierville.

Through the Beautiful Beginnings Baby Steps program, proud family members have a special way to celebrate the birth of a new baby. With a minimum contribution of $100 to the Foundation, a newborn's footprints are etched into a marble medallion, along with his/her name and birth date. The medallions are then displayed on an honor wall, located near the labor/delivery department at Baptist Collierville.

Families, friends, physicians and special guests joined Baptist officials in the unveiling of the honor wall on Sunday, when the first 26 footprint medallions were put into place. Also during the ceremony, Baptist Collierville's obstetricians and gynecologists were recognized for their services.

All proceeds from the Baby Steps program are used to enhance delivery and neonatal services at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Collierville. Contributions to the Baptist Memorial Health Care Foundation have helped improve care, provide educational opportunities and allow for additional research in many areas of medicine.
