Southaven, Miss., July 17, 2000 - Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto is calling for vendors and volunteers for its annual fall festival, known as AutumnFest, to be held at the Baptist Progressive Care Center-DeSoto, 7805 Southcrest Parkway, on Oct. 27 and 28, 2000, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Booth rental for a 10 feet by 10 feet space is $35 before Sept. 22 and $50 thereafter. Deadline for applications is Oct. 13. Vendors must provide their own tables and chairs. Booths will be located on pavement, and electricity will not be provided.

The first day of AutumnFest will be a Senior Fun and Fitness Day, featuring low stress athletic events, games, food, health screenings and health events for the area's senior community. The second day will be a traditional family festival, including crafts, all-day entertainment, games, a cake walk, a bake sale, food booths, a chili cook-off and door prizes.

AutumnFest, hosted by the Baptist Progressive Care Center-DeSoto, is free and open to the public. The Progressive Care Center is a 120-bed skilled nursing facility designed to fill the need between high-level inpatient hospital care and care that may be provided at home by family members or a visiting nurse.

Proceeds from the festival go to the Baptist Memorial Health Care Foundation, the charitable fund-raising arm of Baptist Memorial Health Care. To volunteer, donate baked goods and door prizes, or to inquire about renting booth space, call Brenda Dreher or Phyllis Birge at (601) 349-7500.f the BCI Life Center. "Through this campaign, we all have a chance to be a part of finding a cure."
