Memphis, Tenn., Aug. 28, 2001 - In conjunction with Prostate Health Month in September, Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis will host a free seminar "Prostate Cancer: A Medical and Personal Perspective" on Friday, Sept. 14 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the seminar rooms.
Guest speakers include Eric Fowler, director of genetics at the Baptist Cancer Institute; Dr. Jeffrey Gingrich, urologist at the University of Tennessee; and Pat Caesar, facilitator of Man to Man, a support group for prostate cancer patients and their families. Participants will learn the importance of recognizing risk factors and symptoms of prostate cancer, as well as what can be done to detect and treat prostate cancer. A complimentary lunch will be provided.
The Senior Lunch Bunch meets once a month at Baptist Memphis and features guest speakers who talk about health issues affecting seniors. All participants must register in advance and may call (901) 226-5879 to reserve a space or to get more information about the program.
