Memphis, Tenn., June 25, 2002 - The Baptist College of Health Sciences’ Center for Continuing Education recently was awarded full accreditation for four years from the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education.
ACCME offers voluntary accreditation services to continuing medical education centers that wish to be recognized for meeting the organization’s level of quality. Continuing medical education provides physicians with the ongoing knowledge and skills they need to provide their patients with optimum care.
“We are pleased and proud that we meet ACCME’s high level of quality,” said Adonna Caldwell, manger of the Center for Continuing Education. “We will continue to be dedicated to providing quality educational offerings to the physicians affiliated with the Baptist Memorial Health Care system as well as the communities we serve.”
The Baptist College of Health Sciences’ Center for Continuing Education provides programs, products and services to physicians and other health professionals in Tennessee, Arkansas, Mississippi and several other states. In addition to being accredited by the ACCME, the center has the approval of the Tennessee Nurses Association, and it awards continuing education units for many of its programs. The Center for Continuing Education also houses the Emergency Cardiovascular Care Community Training Center, an American Heart Association accredited affiliate, which offers classes in basic life support and advanced cardiac life support in communities throughout the Mid-South.
