Baptist Memorial Hospital for Women To Offer Free Community Seminars in July

Memphis, Tenn., June 22, 2004 - Baptist Memorial Hospital for Women, located at 6225 Humphreys Blvd., will host free community seminars in the hospital’s educational classrooms throughout the month of July.

The seminars are part of the Dr. Sam P. Patterson Library Seminar Series and address women’s health and wellness issues—from discussing stress to reducing the risk of heart disease. Reservations are required and can be made 24 hours a day by calling (800) 4-BAPTIST or (901) 227-8478.

“Medicare Prescription Cards—How Do They Work and Are They For You?”
Tuesday, July 13, 1 to 2 p.m.

This seminar will explain the new Medicare discount drug cards and help participants navigate some of the most popular plans, identify program options and calculate any potential savings. Following the seminar, participants can bring a list of their current medications for a free consultation with the pharmacy staff at Baptist’s Women’s Hospital.

“Preparing for Unexpected and Future Needs”
Thursday, July 22, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Statistics show one in two Americans who reach age 65 will need some kind of long-term care. This seminar will address the importance of long-term care policies and how disability insurance helps secure financial stability when the unexpected happens. Light refreshments will be served.
