RIPLEY, Tenn., April 30, 2009 – Janie Sweat was recently named the new chief nursing officer for Baptist Memorial Hospital-Lauderdale.
She began her career as a medical/surgical nurse at Baptist Lauderdale in 1982 after earning her associate’s degree in nursing from Dyersburg State Community College and her bachelor’s degree from Southern Illinois University. She served as the head nurse for the critical care unit, home health director, chief nursing officer and director of quality/medical review at Baptist Lauderdale.
Sweat transferred to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Tipton in 2003 to serve as director of quality/medical review and joined the Lauderdale County School System in 2006 as the school health coordinator.
“We are very proud to have Janie back with Baptist Lauderdale as our chief nursing officer,” said Daryl Blalack, administrator and CEO of Baptist Lauderdale. “Her experience in nursing and her years with Baptist made her the perfect choice for this position.”
Baptist Memorial Hospital-Lauderdale offers a wide range of services including cardiology, family practice, general surgery and internal medicine. Other services include inpatient mental health programs for seniors, mammography, ultrasound, as well as physical and occupational therapy.
