SOUTHAVEN, Miss., May 22, 2009 – Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto will offer a SuperSitter course for preteens and teens on Monday, June 1, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The course will cover baby-sitting issues, including safety, first aid and appropriate play and discipline. The course is open to both boys and girls, ages 11 and older.
Each participant will receive a folder with guidelines for baby-sitting, as well as instructions for making a first aid kit. Dolls also will be available for hands-on training. A certified childbirth and family education instructor will teach the course, which costs $50.

Baptist DeSoto is a 339-bed hospital that offers diagnostic, surgical and rehabilitation services. In 2001, the hospital completed an expansion project that nearly doubled its size, expanded its labor and delivery services and added open-heart surgery and radiation therapy.
