MEMPHIS, Tenn., Sept. 8, 2009 – The respiratory care program at Baptist College of Health Sciences was among a select group of programs recognized for Excellence in Education by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care in Marco Island, Fla., on July 16.
In selecting the programs, the CoARC used objective criteria based on key accreditation outcomes for the credentialing of Baptist College graduates. Brian Parker, program chair of respiratory care for the college, was presented the award at the American Association for Respiratory Care Summer Forum. The award went to only 10 programs nationally out of more than 400 that met the established criteria.
“We are honored to be awarded for our excellence in education,” said Parker. “Baptist College is committed to instilling the importance of quality care and keeping service the top priority in our students, and we know they will carry that standard of excellence into their work.”
The college, established in 1994, offers a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing and a Bachelor of Health Sciences degree with majors in respiratory care, diagnostic medical sonography, health care management, nuclear medicine technology, medical radiography and radiation therapy technology.
