MEMPHIS, Tenn., Sept. 14, 2009 – This school year, Baptist College of Health Sciences set a personal enrollment record; its student body increased by 10 percent from last year.
A total of 1,021 students are taking classes at Baptist College this fall, including 15 Pinnacle Program students and 270 new students. The Pinnacle Program is an accelerated bachelor's degree program in Health Care Management.
“We are excited to welcome a record number of students this fall,” said Betty Sue McGarvey, president of Baptist College of Health Sciences. “Baptist College is committed to providing a quality education that prepares health care professionals for our community."
The college, established in 1994, offers a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing and a Bachelor of Health Sciences degree with majors in respiratory care, diagnostic medical sonography, health care management, nuclear medicine technology, medical radiography and radiation therapy technology. The college also offers completion degrees for licensed or registered nurses and respiratory therapists. In addition, the college provides a variety of class schedules, from traditional day classes to evening and weekend programs. The college is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award the Bachelor of Science in Nursing and the Bachelor of Health Sciences degrees. The college also participates in many federal and state financial aid programs.
