Advanced cancer care closer to home
You shouldn't have to leave behind family, friends and the place in which you feel most comfortable to get sophisticated and compassionate cancer care. When diagnosed with cancer, some people immediately think they have to go outside of the Memphis community and Mid-South region to get the very best care. Because cancer affects not just the individual, but the patient's family and relatives, it's better to be treated and cared for in your own community - surrounded by the familiar.
For this reason, the Baptist Memorial Health Care Foundation created the Baptist Centers for Cancer Care (BCCC), a cancer program so strong that people throughout the Mid-South will be aware of and reassured by the competence, excellence and comprehensiveness of the program. The BCCC is committed to providing Mid-South physicians, cancer patients and their families with the assurance and confidence that excellent and compassionate care is nearby - right here in Memphis.
At the heart of the BCCC's conviction lies the largest financial commitment ever made by Baptist Memorial Health Care Foundation - a $3.1 million grant to Baptist Memorial Hospital to support the creation of the Baptist Centers for Cancer Care. This major funding has helped catapult Baptist Memorial Hospital to the forefront as a national center for cancer treatment and clinical research. Consequently, more people in the Mid-South region and beyond can receive high-quality treatment without having to endure the added emotional and physical stress of traveling to another cancer center in a far-away city.
