Baptist Memorial Hospital - Occupational Health

Daily Bread
The LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.
Joshua 1:9

AWARE provides required testing for industrial workers in Tennessee, Mississippi and Arkansas. It has premiere computerized test equipment and offers a high level of expertise at a competitive price.

What Sets AWARE Apart?
Quality. AWARE, an occupational hearing conservation program founded by Baptist Memorial Health Care in 1983, is the only company of its kind in the Mid-South that is a professional service organization member of the National Hearing Conservation Association. Accuracy and timeliness are monitored as part of Baptist's performance improvement process.

Highly Qualified Staff
All of AWARE's audiologists are licensed and are certified by the American Speech Hearing and Language Association. Its technicians are qualified by the Council for Accreditation of Occupational Hearing Conservation. The company's director of audiology is licensed in Tennessee, Mississippi and Arkansas and is a member of the American Academy of Audiology, the American Speech Hearing and Language Association and the National Hearing Conservation Association.

Convenience
AWARE can take its vans to companies throughout the Mid-South to provide on-site testing to industrial workers. The vans are equipped to test as many as 36 employees an hour, and tests are performed quickly so workers spend little time away from their workstations.

Reliable Results
The staff performs computerized testing, which provides more reliable and accurate results. Instruments are calibrated on-site before and after test sessions to ensure strict compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards.

Exceptional Service
Test instructions and forms can be provided in English and Spanish. Individualized letters are provided to client companies so they can effectively inform their workers of test results. Diagnostic and clinical follow-up services are available through Baptist Memorial Health Care. In addition, AWARE can help with all aspects of companies' hearing conservation programs.

Why Companies Should Regularly Test Workers' Hearing
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration and Tennessee's Division of Occupational Safety and Health require annual hearing tests for workers exposed to hazardous noise levels. Working with AWARE, companies can design hearing conservation programs that evaluate employees and their work environment. Most importantly, companies can help prevent potential and permanent hearing loss while protecting themselves from liability. For more information about hearing regulations, please visit the Web sites for Occupational, Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Tennessee Occupational Safety and Health Act (TOSHA) and the National Hearing Conservation Association.
