Cardiopulmonary Transplant Unit This 12-bed unit, located on the second floor of the Baptist Heart Institute, cares for patients before and immediately following heart or lung transplants. The only adult unit of its kind in the Mid-South, it plays a big role in the success of Baptist Memorial Health Care's heart transplant program. To date, heart surgeons have performed more than 200 heart transplants, with a one-year survival rate of around 90 percent. Stem Cell Transplant Center Since 1989, Baptist Center for Cancer Care-Memphis' Stem Cell Transplant Center has focused on innovative cancer treatment using high-dose chemotherapy with stem cell support within a standardized, integrated system dedicated to transplantation by leading cancer physicians.
